thanks to everyone for all the info so far, I’ve learned a lot from you!

I’ve talked to one dealer in ATL and they are at MSRP with no discounts and want $899 for paperwork, plus 4 add ons that salesman said they might take off because it’s an order. He didn’t sound totally confident about the 4 add ons being removable..

Does anyone know of a north GA dealer who is offering any discount like the dealer in PA? I don’t mind driving to get a good deal. Or flying if it makes financial sense (Delta is ready when you are) 🤣
thx

Welcome! See my post here for another option if you don’t find one. Sorry I don’t have an answer. My experience in Atlanta is with Toyota dealers. haha

Also, my courtesy dealer is in Chattanooga if you’re interested.

I know your in Georgia but give Ed a shout over at Chapman in Philly. He has been helping people all over the country. You can now get 4 PERCENT under invoice. Beats paying any MSRP markup or even MSRP at that matter

Here is his info! He's very responsive, Id recommend you call or text him

Delta’s flights to Philly are under $200 so might make sense to “fly n drive.”
thanks!

There are other ways that dealers can sweeten the deal apart from selling it at a discount. The dealership i went to doesn't offer a discount, but they include a LIFETIME powertrain warranty at no additional charge. So it's MSRP plus any dealer installed options (I added window tint) plus a $199 administrative fee. They told me that they won't waive the fee since they're throwing in the lifetime powertrain warranty for free. Seems fair to me, so I didn't argue.

I would just say be careful with the fine print in the power train warranties dealers offer. Make sure it’s right for you. For the right person, that’s fantastic, but for someone like me it’s not worth a hill of beans and I prefer discounts upfront.

Depends on the vehicle. On an F-150 that Ford's been making for over half a century, I have more faith in their product. For a brand new model, the 3 year 36,000 mile Ford warranty isn't reassuring enough. Especially when you're talking about a soda bottle sized engine with 4,000 pounds tow rating.

I just mean I’m not taking it to the dealer for oil changes and all required maintenance like some require you to do. I like doing things to my vehicles and learning about them, using the oil I like, etc. Some people would be taking it to the dealer for all of that and would love the warranty for added peace of mind.

our 2018 F-150 has 5 yrs/60K powertrain warranty standard- not just the 3/36 like the 3/36 bumper to bumper. I haven't verified but I'd bet the Maverick has that too. Pretty sure this 2.0L is just another variant of motors Ford has been offering for many years, but with displacement changes so not really a new design to worry about reliability. I've found most my new vehicles had their problems in the 1st year or so if there was going to be anything serious.

Manufacturers can't require that your use the dealerships for routine maintenance. They used to try to require that, the Magnussen Moss Act put a stop to that practice. The trouble is that they can still ask you to prove that the vehicle was maintained according to the maintenance schedule. And, short of a log book and receipts, that's tough to do.

That’s good to know. Just did a quick Google search for it and some are still claiming that, so maybe they should update their pages. I see what you mean with how difficult it could be to convince them that maintenance is being done properly though.
