I took delivery a month ago for my 23 XL from a 9/2022 COVP order. I called Marketing a week before delivery to be sure price protection would be there. It was not but they would work on it.

The dealer was insistent that Ford does not price protect orders. I walked away with just my Farm Bureau at closing asking the dealer to follow up.

Today, a month later, I had some time as my FP Rewards did not show so I called Ford. The FP rewards were easy and I asked to be connected to Marketing to check on my SPO. She really would not tell me anything, unlike before, and said it was between my dealer and I. She did put notes in the system about not being received and the dealer advising there was not any.

I followed up with a message to the dealership who insisted there was none and they already asked their Ford rep twice. I asked that they try again as I know several folks who received theirs, including my Son from another dealer.

Well, no more than 30 mins later I heard a check from the dealership is on the way for my price protection.

I guess it pays to be diligent. I hope they did not already spend it!

3000 miles in 30 days, I think the Mrs loves her Mav….

I swear, dealers are their own worst enemies, my goodness!! If a dealer you go to, to place an order, and says there isn't price protection on a retail order, WALK AWAY!!! I swear, the majority of the salespeople that dealers employ, are literally bodies to show a customer a vehicle and to pipe down when time comes to talk numbers.

There are a small faction of good salespeople who actually care about making customers happy, and try and build a book of business for repeat customers. I spend 23 years doing that and I learned all the things that should be common knowledge for a salesperson, but dealers don't want salespeople today to have this info as they feel they may say the wrong thing. Such a shame as buying a car, as my former boss told me, is supposed to be a fun thing, not a chore.

Sorry for the rant. I'm glad you got your Price Protection for your order. It shouldn't have gotten that far. It should have been done at the time of delivery where you paid the ordered price on your 9/22 DORA and the dealer takes care of the $$$ behind the scenes but most dealerships have ZERO clue!
