After a 13 month wait, I finally took delivery of my Mav on July 18. Love the truck! On August 8, the service engine soon light came on……. Possibly air in the coolant line for the high voltage battery. Called the dealer’s service the next day. Soonest they had a hybrid tech was the following Monday, but if I dropped the truck off that day, they would try to work it in to at least figure out the problem. On Friday, they called and told me there was a small leak in the coolant line and they had emergency ordered the part, and told me they’d call the next Monday with more information on the order status. They asked how I was set for transportation, and I told them I was ok until the next Monday. On Monday they informed me the part was back orderEd, and they got me a rental.

Fast forward to today. They part is still on back order, with no eta. At this point, they have had my truck longer than I have. I made my first payment on a truck I don’t have. Today, I will go and pay to register a truck I don’t have……

My dealer’s service department has been great, and they’d love to fix my truck. I‘m guessing Ford is still making Mavs, so there are parts out there, but nothing for service. If Ford just keeps building trucks and doesn’t kick some parts loose for service, the problem is just going to get worse.

Anyway, that’s my story. I hope not too many of you get stuck in this situation.
