I agree. Were not a lot of dash covers that I can remember in the 60's and 70's. Wish there were. The dashes back then in hot weather (sometimes in cold also) would split, crack, fade even in newer cars. Not much you could do back then, just put up with it. Different kind of vinyl I assume. Waiting to see how this newer hard plastic stuff works out, especially on how it will, or won't, scratch up. Time will tell, but I do know it will get HOT.I respect that point of view but it’s all about the quality and fit of the cover and it definitely keeps the dash like new over time (no scratches or mars) it also eliminates reflections and glare from the windshield. This is definitely one of the first things I buy when I get a new vehicle but it’s a matter of choice
