Damaged tailgate

Neighbors car was rear ended and their car was pushed into my tailgate. The POS took off leaving behind a wheel with the brake caliber still attached. Fortunately the tail gate isn’t too bad and it doesn’t look like any other damage. Doubt I can find another tailgate so I guess I’ll be trying to lift the dent. Any ideas?

That sucks.

A car without a wheel and brake fluid probably can't get too far. Might be worth taking a tour of the neighborhood to see if you can find it. Odds are good that it wasn't a stolen car, or they likely would have dumped it and run.

People do seem to be finding spare Maverick parts at junkyards, so you might get lucky. Otherwise, I'd take it to a body shop--they can probably pop it back out.

Definitely fixable by any pro body shop. Will be good as new

I know when i have had this happen the insurance company of the car that hit me paid up. Even though they were pushed. Not sure if that insurance company went after the car doing the pushing but thats their problem.
I would go thru insurance and let them sort it out, thats what people are paying for...

Thats not bad, right on the bend, u probably could get to the back side and pop it back out, if it did, I bet it would be good enough. You wouldn't notice it unless you looked at it hard.

My neighbor had a big door dent on the style line. Took it to a guy that did dent repair.

You would never know that the dent was ever there. No painting. Just tapped away at it from the inside for an hour. Go find a dent repair person. Bet they can make it look like new.
