If we needed at least 20 people to have a functional cowl hood made would there be interest? This would be made by a very reputable company that makes hoods. Without going into too much detail yet, it would be something mild like the picture below. Have a call tomorrow and need some real world interest. Like put a deposit down interest. I would set this up for after the holidays when we all have money to spend. 🙂

Ford Maverick Cowl Hood interest? F2C4F914-010D-4772-AE98-705B92384E24

This is just for reference not the hood or manufacturer.

What are your current thoughts on how it might be functional - simply exhausting engine compartment heat at the rear, which would then introduce heat into the interior/cab; outside air entering from the rear and into some type of newly designed cold-air intake box that’s sealed to this cowl hood; front-facing scoop opening similar to the factory accessory hood scoop, which again mates and seals to a cold air intake box?

Do you currently have a cost range in mind if you are able to secure a solid 20 interested deposits?

Safe to assume this would be constructed of traditional fiberglass, or some other material? And do you anticipate the underside would have any or as many of the factory holes to fasten the existing oem wiring looms to?

And of course there would be the subsequent/additional cost of painting to match each party’s truck body color.

*Cowl induction hood

The original cowl induction, and many variants, utilizes the air pressure at the base of the windshield/cowl area to force air into the engine.

This is still in the infancy stage. Design, material, cost, etc is still unknown. My goal is to get a commitment that they will build an aftermarket hood for us.

Honestly I don’t see why they wouldn’t being the Mavericks popularity and endless customization options. Someone is going to build one or several designs eventually. I’m just trying to kickstart it and hopefully let the community have some input on what we want.

A stick on fake scoop is like fake Brembo brake covers. Why spend $300 on a Folex if you can get a Rolex for $1000? Not the best example but you know what I mean.
With the turbo at the firewall I believe a cowl hood would be perfect for heat extraction.

The only potential issue I see is that Mavericks already have a "hood flutter" issue.

Update on the hood.

So the magic number is 40. 40 people willing to put down a non refundable deposit to make this happen.

RK Sport would be making them and would welcome our input on design. They are going to send me an estimate on pricing in Fiberglass and Full Carbon Fiber.

Desposits and payments will be made to them on this initial purchase. My payoff would be a sponsored hood and being a dealer for future sales.

This WILL happen, it’s just going to take some time. Ideally I’m thinking around tax refund time which also gives us time to spread the word. If you know of anyone please let them know as well. There has to be 40 people willing to purchase a hood.

It sucks that I would get this hood before I get my truck.
