Appreciate this might not be a popular post. But for anyone else going through the same thing as me...
Ordered the Maverick 10 months ago. Still at priority code 10 (same as when I ordered). My main car is (was) a 2001 SUV with over 200k miles on the clock. Still working but as expected with age, it's getting more and more problems - new cat needed etc.
I'm a financial analyst and did a 5-year cashflow model and realized that a Honda Ridgeline RTL-E had a NPV impact of $7k for me (relative to Maverick), which was an acceptable trade-off given the nicer interior etc. Test drove one and bought it for MSRP. Such a nice vehicle, and I'm relieved to no longer be worrying about the potential risk of my car not starting in the morning.
Super sad that the Maverick didn't work out - but at the end of the day, a car is a car, and honestly the Honda feels so solid and meets all of my needs and more. The only bummer is gas mileage.
