So I’m super excited but also confused: Talked to Ford CS and they said it has been delivered to the nearest railyard (roughly 20 miles from dealership) and that I’m still slated for a 11/19-11/25 delivery. Checked the United Road website and it currently says inactive. I then called CSX and it said that the rail car was “constructively placed” on Monday, Nov. 6 at 1:00pm local.

Has anyone had this happen? What does this mean in terms of the carrier getting to it for the final leg? Will this affect delivery timeline (early/late)?

Appreciate any input. Thanks!

UPDATE: 11/9/22, at 3:17pm local, it has been “placed at industry”

They wait until they can fill a semi hauler before loading because of fuel costs now. Could be waiting on more units going in that general direction.

Mine has been constructivley placed for two weeks now. 20 miles from its final unload destination. 100 miles from dealer. I got hold of CSX customer service and talked with them. Basically they said it means there is a backlog at the terminal of being able to unload the train cars. This is being caused by a shortage of trucks to get the vehicles out of the train yard once unloaded from trains.

It probably means the truck has been moved to the car lot waiting for pick up. Just a guess. 20 miles from your dealer most likely it's waiting for the hauler your dealer uses for transport. There are only 2 Ford dealers in my area so the haulers deliver to both lots. It was only 2 days in the lot before arriving at my dealer 250 miles away. They use car haulers for short legs.

My truck was taken off of the constructivly placed update and reported no update avaiable. Next day it showed up at the unload destination 20 iles away and it says the car has been unloaded. So now I wait for it to be loaded onto a truck to make the 75 mile trip north from jacksonville Fla to Brunswick Ga.
