Just some LED lights so I can see in the back. I have them set up with a magnetic switch so they come on when I drop the tailgate.

Maybe I can just use a small 12v battery and stow it in one of the cubbies.
I plan on adding a small 12 volt battery as well, just need to figure out how to charge it without cycling backward. Someone mentioned using a cheap solar charger in another post, and there was this as well, but I have not had a chance to read.
I ended up adding a 12v battery in the bed cubby after being unable to change the pigtail behavior in forescan, mine would cut power as soon as I took the key out. I added a cheap breakaway battery charger to keep it charged using the factory pigtail. The charger has a diode so the current can't go from the new battery back to the fusebox. When bench tested everything worked as it should, hasn't been installed long enough to say 100%. I considered running a wire to factory battery but I'm already having deep sleep issues without any additional load so decided against it. Link below has my setup and the parts used in case it helps.

Good luck! Maybe you'll find a better solution.

Thanks for the update. I think I will be doing something like that with mine. I think I will run some usb ports, a 12 volt power, and my led lights, so I will probably run a slightly larger battery. I have been looking for something like this, so thank you for the link. I am adding it to my wish list now!
