I called my salesman (he was on another line) to ask about my COVP confirmation and to ask him if they could ask Ford to resend a confirmation email since I know three people who ordered from them who got that email within minutes of their order being placed and I was the first. Anyway, I didn't see that he tried to call back because my phone was on "stupid" mode apparently. So, before I called him back, I checked my email and low and behold, the ever elusive "Your Order Had Been Confirmed" email!
So, yay!
But still... Why did it take so long?
1. Dealer had my email wrong (they did) and Ford took a long time to get around re-sending my email.
2. My salesman realized what I was going to ask and he finally asked for a resend of the email from Ford.
3. My dealer was hoping I'd let it go and then when my Truck comes in, they'd know I wouldn't know and they could sell it before I figured out it was there... not really likely - the Dealership is small though they claim that the "Woodhouse" family of dealerships is the highest by volume seller of Ford trucks for something like 18 of the last 19 years.
4. The careful alignment of planets and intervention by Bigfoot caused some data-entry person at Ford to reevaluate their life choices leading them to send out emails to people who they decided had not yet gotten notified.
5. Nobody knows... Nobody can figure out this whole Ford ordering system and everything just happens randomly.
Whatever the case, I've got at least the confirmation email to keep me warm at night. Well, that and my wife... LOL
