1980 Mini-Truck Melee I was not old enough to drive when this was published. I did own a Ford Courier once I was legal to drive and I have fond memories of Courier. I'm liking very much the Plymouth Arrow in the article. If my on order Maveric Hybrid ever arrives I expect the graphics on the Arrow would look great on Maverick.

Anyway, just a little fun with WABAC machine on sunny Sunday afternoon. Be safe all and live well!

Jeez, I don't remember my Courier being so terrible. But, back then, I was young, stupid & poor, so it probably didn't matter,,,,

Back in the day when acceleration times were measure with a calendar! Can you imagine putting a trailer behind any one of those.

I guarantee plenty pulled alot more than our mavs are rated for with those. I pulled some decent loads a few times with a 7000lb 4x4 econoline with a 115 hp 200lbft 300 I6. It took a long ass time just to get up to 35 mph. I dont even think it would do 60 mph on anything but the flat. But then again it was designed under the double nickel era so it is what it is.

All of a sudden, my Maverick Hybrid feels Super-Quick!

My wife's dad had a late 70's Datsun pickup with standard cab. That was the car he let her drive after she got her license. Heck, I even got to drive it once - to go pick up my motorcycle after some repairs were made. Seats could not go back far enough to ever be considered "comfortable" for me... And I'm only 5' 11" tall.

I do remember taking a test drive in one of the VW diesel trucks... I think Peyton Manning could have outrun it, even in the quarter-mile. That think gave "slow" a bad name!
