So yes cold temps always reduce mileage not just because the engine runs more but also cold air is denser so more aerodynamic drag, more rolling resistance due to winter tires if installed, snow buildup in wheel-wells, etc. Every vehicle, ICE, PHEV, Hybrid, EV gets poorer mileage in the cold month.

FYI check tire pressure too as I filled back up to 35psi I got 1 mpg back do to lower tire pressure not the full 3-4 mpg impact but 1-2 for sure.

The battery has a heating system.
My battery (with a scanner) went from 37°F to 61°F in 10 minutes. The battery was 77°F in 30 minutes while ambient air was 40°F.

Unless your trips are 10 minutes or less, a cold battery is not responsible for your lower MPG. Ford engineered that part out of the equation. It's all the "other" factors combined. Tire pressure pressure and cold tire "stiffness" probably does not get the attention it deserves.
