By Crutchfield on Monday. I did not get to speak to the install tech(s) before or after so the path to install was fully up to them. They end up installing it under the rea seat, in the middle, and they ended up not using the line converter I was sold when I made the appointment- they refunded it. I think this means they tapped into the rear speakers? Which seems painful with all the horror stories on getting into those panels :) I haven't have much time in the truck since, but so far so good. More to come!

I wouldn't think the rear speakers received a full-range signal. I would think the extreme low frequencies are blocked? Thus, wouldn't it be best to tap the front door? This may be why it's not as "deep" as you expected. Looks nice and clean though.

I agree, looks like I need to rewire my sub that's tapped in to the rear speakers.

The rear speakers are crossed over pretty high IMHO. I don't have a meter but I listened to a sweep test and I would guess in the range of 600 - 1200 hz. There's no midbass.

The only way you could get the bass back is a DSP and it's a band aid even then because of how high it's apparently filtered.

If you set the gain, you're still going to lose on the low end due to the crossover slope. Or if you set the gain with a very low test tone it'll be way too high at the top of the sub range.

Maybe crutchfield knows this and tapped into the front door speaker. I'd ask them.

Some here on MTC say when you choose "All Seats" in the Sound Settings on the display instead of Driver's seat, it removes the frequency limitation on the rear speakers. I haven't tested this theory because I had already installed a DSP Amp and I get a full sound out of the rear speakers. It would be cool if someone actually tested this idea. ;)
