Not a fan of the blue and chrome Ford emblems. Gonna get the black overlays to cover the blue. But was thinking of getting these to cover the chrome.

Has anyone bought these yet??

Why not just use plastidip? I can't imagine these are going to look great close up.

Buy those to cover the Chrome and then buy vinyl emblem stickers for the Ford part. Easier than plasti dip it and cheaper than replacing them.

You don't have to take anything apart to plastidip. Watch a few how to videos. I've seen those emblem covers and they look super chintzy to me. Also, plastidip will be way easier to apply to the curved/convex and embossed emblem than lining up a 2 dimensional piece of vinyl that needs to be lined up perfectly when applied.
There's a member here who did his emblems with plastidip and he didn't remove anything and they came out great. He even posted a how to video specific to the Maverick

I'm going to look up the word chintzy before I look up Plasti dip. So I guess my truck looks chintzy...

Plasti dip makes things look fake. Pretty dumb that they put the word 'dip' in it if it's not actually a dip.

Eh. I have plastidip on my wheels and multiple people have asked me if I got them powder coated. Those plastic covers will just make your truck look like a Pep Boys special in my opinion. To me plastidip looks like a factory coating and there's a reason dip is in the name but how would you know since you don't really seem to know much about it.

I never did it before. But based on the name, it easy to be assumed that it's something you dip items in and it hardens with a plastic coating. I guess I was wrong... Because I watched a video. To me it should be called plasti spray... Doesn't make sense to call it a dip if nothing is dipped into it.

... And what is a pep boys special? You have a problem with that car shop?

There's also articles about how it takes away resale value. Whereas a vinyl sticker can be removed very easily. I see a lot of cars with that spray paint look all over them and I think they look completely ghetto.

Most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Lowers resale value when you can easily remove it? Ridiculous. Super easy to remove plastidip as long as you follow directions and apply it correctly. I'm starting to think that's your Etsy shop and you're actually promoting those terrible looking plastic covers and stickers. Also, the name comes from the original product which IS a dip. I use it to coat the handles of a lot of my tools when I buy them or when the original rubber coating wears off or deteriorates. Clearly you've never used either the dip or spray before and you're just going on assumptions and hearsay. Good luck to you

Clearly you didn't read my other message. I already said I've never used it. It's common sense that if something is used to be dipped in, call it a dip. If something's used to be sprayed on, call it a spray. Simple. Not sure why you can't comprehend that. The only time I've ever dealt with Plasti dip was when people mentioned I should dip my wheels when I was going to do a color change. Well obviously that would be something you dip.... Never heard of a spray plasti 'dip' until today.

I don't have an Etsy shop and I've only ever used Etsy for the vinyl stickers.

I saw your comment on my other post too... You contradict yourself. You say you're cheap on the BAP and that's cool, but on emblems you're not cheap? Lol

I posted pictures of my truck with the vinyl emblems and I've gotten nothing but compliments...until you spewed.

Plastidip is the brand and that branding is important. It's been around for ages and was expanded to include sprays. The finish is the same, it's just a different application process. How hard is it to comprehend that the brand is called Plastidip?

Also, I don't contradict anything, it just seems like you're having difficulty comprehending my points. I am cheap, aka frugal, hence the XL. I added OEM cruise control, an OEM power remote locking rear tailgate and take off aluminum wheels from a bronco sport that I purchased for $300 and saved over $2,000 by not going to an XLT which I disliked the wheels and orange interior accents anyway. Just because I'm cheap doesn't mean I don't like things to look nice. I would use plastidip any day over those plastic covers and I stand by my opinion that the plastidip will look factory while the covers will look like an afterthought bought off of wish.com. I urge you to check out the MTC forum member who did a plastidip tutorial video on his Maverick emblems. They came out perfect and look factory and would be easily removable if he chose to do so.

I'm just done with you... Anything else I add wouldn't be positive.

Different tastes ... Move on

I have actually been going back and forth. (Emblem and cover vs plastic dip). Plasti dip may be more difficult in what you want to do, especially the camera in the rear. Also I don’t know how long it would last with a life time of car washes. But that can also be said for the stickers.
