We're back with another All-Terrain tire launch, this one from Cooper Tires!

Available in 4-ply rating (SL & XL), the Cooper Discoverer Road+Trail AT refreshes the popular Discoverer AT3 4S with incremental improvements where it mattered most. Featuring a next-generation tread pattern, the Discoverer Road+Trail AT utilizes a more rugged sidewall design over its predecessor which transitions nicely from the shoulder lugs. In addition the new aesthetics, drivers can expect superior wet performance and improved steering feel, with the same on-road comfort found with the previous version. If you find yourself mainly driving on-road with camping adventures sprinkled in throughout the year, the Cooper Discoverer Road+Trail AT is worth a look!

Looks like a good mild AT. Probably plenty for the average soft road/camper type.

How does this tire compare to the Falken WildPeak A/T Trail? Dry, wet and road noise?

The Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail has a less aggressive tread than the Cooper Discoverer Road + Trail A/T so better highway mannerisms for noise but the Cooper should do better for wet and mild off road. The more forum members that can chime in on their experience would be greatly appreciated.

Ahh, ok. Was hoping that it would have less impact to MPGs than the Falken. It seems that it is marginally lighter in comparison for the same sizes.

Are you saying that these are more noisy that the Michelin OEMS and the Falkens?

Gotta say got them installed yesterday. In my obviously limited use I think they are a homerun. Quiet, similar fuel economy on the FX4 after 100 miles and much better handling and comfort than the pirellis. Added the black lugnuts also which discount tire worked a deal on. Been going there 30 years. In and out in 30 minutes with an appointment.

Curious...a few months in are you still liking the Coopers? I just got my truck and I'm thinking of trading the Pirellis at discount for a set of 245/65/17 Cooper Discoverer Road + Trail while I still only have a few hundred miles on her.

Yep. I still think they are a great tire for the Maverick. No complaints at all.
