Cheap Wireless Carplay Adapter and Free Cup Holder Adapter

Was actually looking at the large cup adapters for my nalgene and came across on that the brand is selling their apparently new wireless carplay adapter with a $20 off Amazon coupon plus get the free cup holder for free. I figured "ok I'll bite" and it arrived today. So far wireless adapter works as it should and the cup holder is what it is, meaning works fine. This one fan apparently fit a KFC bucket in it lol.

I have a '22.
I purchased this wireless CarPlay adapter and cannot get it to work.
I made sure to update the adapter to the latest software, and the truck as well.
The Ford CarPlay warnings come up on the truck display, but nothing happens after that.
Any advice, or is the '22 system enough different than the '24 that it won't work on mine?
