Changing salesman with a pre-order..

My salesman is terrible at communication. I ordered a Maverick in September, and his communication with me has been garbage/slow since.

I want to get rid of this guy, but I don't want it to affect my order. Does anybody have any experience with changing your sales rep while waiting for your Maverick?

Changing sales person should have no reflect with your order, Ford’s system is seperate from the dealer handling your order, but you’re kind of at the dealers discretion. Best you can do is talk to a sales manager of GM, explain the issue with your sales person and see if they will have someone better take over and assist you. It’s up to the dealer though.

When I felt my guy was a bit lacking, I just started emailing the "new vehicle sales manager" instead. Sometimes I copied my salesperson, sometimes I didn't. When mine finally came in last week, my guy wasn't even there and the new vehicle sales manager had some other salesperson handle me.

Ok. I just didn't want to lose my contract because of a salesperson change. I mean I even tipped the guy $100 last year for good service... So it's been surprising how bad the communication has been this year.

Good news is while contacting the dealer about it, I found out I'm in previewing stage! Silver lining I guess

Your arrangement should be with the dealer, not an individual salesperson. Let the sales manager know you would prefer to work with someone else.

The only issue you're likely to have is if the old guy gets upset about losing the sale because of the commission..

Yeah I'm not worried about his feelings. He should have worried about his commission when he took days to respond to emails!
