Casper is home!

Picked her up yesterday morning and my speakers and sun was delivered in the afternoon. Perfect timing! Even though the stock speakers weren’t as bad as I expected, the new speakers and sub do make a tremendous difference. The speakers were a piece of cake….plug and play. The sub was not too bad. I soldered into the front speaker wires behind the heat and air controls to supply signal. Happy now and ready to take a trip!

What did you go with coaxial. I see they offer separates to replace tweeter in dash.

I attached it to the bracket behind the passenger side of the rear seat using only the top mounting brackets on the sub. The bottom of the sub is sittting on a foam pad that was there for some reason that I have no idea about.

I read somewhere on the net where someone used these speakers and really liked them and I really didn’t want to mess with the upper dash. I compared and listened to them on crutchfield‘s site and they sounded great! I am 56 and probably would have been fine with the stock setup but am now glad I went ahead and got the speakers and sub. The speakers themselves does wonders for the bass! The sub is just a bonus

The foam on the front of the new speakers was a little too thick to allow the door panel to fit properly. I had to trim about half of it off with an exacto knife.
