I read an interesting article comparing various vehicles, and they throw in a hybrid Mav on the final chart, where it compares favorably to a Corolla over the full life cycle. It’s mostly targeting full size EV trucks, especially the Hummer EV. A snippet:

“A bigger battery in turn adds weight, whose penalty must be offset with an even bigger battery, and so on until you end up with something like the GMC Hummer EV weighing 9,000 pounds. Its 2,900-pound, 212.7-kWh lithium-ion battery can propel it 329 miles.”

I am officially willing to be the "Carbon Offset Maverick Bank" and will kindly drive my Mav on electric for all those who own a big ole full size pickup. All you have to do is send me $100 and you don't have to feel guilty about being a horriffic person who wants to ruin the environment.

Hit me up, you will feel better!

Here's what I know. My hybrid Maverick is orders of magnitude cleaner in all ways than the 1990 Chevy Silverado it replaced. That truck failed smog and I had to have a repair done to get it to pass.

So I'm not going to feel guilty even though that's what a certain segment of the population wants me to do.

Huge trucks, regardless of how they are powered, use a huge amount of energy. Small vehicles are simply more efficient. I drive a small EV to work, and use my Maverick for longer trips and for carrying stuff--which seems to be the most efficient means of transportation that I can put together, as least for now.
