Hi everyone! I have a 2023 Maverick Lariat w/ Lux and 360+ packages (fully loaded and I love it so far!). I recently had a rock hit my windshield on the highway and it caused a large crack to form. I just had the windshield replaced yesterday by a local company that does all the windshield replacements for my local Ford dealership. They used the OEM Ford acoustic glass w/ heated wiper elements and it looks like they did a great job. However, when I picked up my truck and asked if they had calibrated the sensors to the new windshield they told me that no, they didn't. They said that since they replaced the original windshield with an identical Ford OEM windshield that calibration wasn't needed. Is this true? Is calibration really not needed in this instance? If it's not needed that's great, but I just want to make sure they aren't cheaping out on something that may cause me issues in the future. I use the adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist all the time so I just want to make sure there won't be any issues.

I had my windshield replaced on my 2023 XLT , LUX by Safelite and they said they had to re calibrate. I've had no problems since.

Thank you to everyone for all the input! Looks like the consensus is that it should be calibrated after replacement no matter what (which was my suspicion all along). So, 1 thing I didn't mention in my first post is that my windshield replacement was covered 100% by my insurance company (with no out of pocket deductible). The reason I was asking if y'all thought they were cheaping out was because I imagine my insurance company paid them for the calibration to be included in the replacement. I'm going to follow up with them and ask for the calibration to be done now.

Yes calibrate, there may be a (sensor) gel pad that should be replaced as well
What sensor or gel pad needs to be replaced, specifically? Is this something that would come pre-attached to the OEM windshield that was installed or something the needs to be sourced and installed separately? Please let me know so I can ask if it was replaced when I follow up with the installer. I'm definitely going to ask that they calibrate now and if it's something they didn't replace I'll have them replace it while I'm there.

My bad on this one. I looked and the camera on maverick does not have a gel pad to attach to the window like other makes and models. Just a recalibrate is needed.

I was curious so here's what I found the calibration is about. Seems it's mostly setting the vertical:
