Best use for my Ford points?

My Milan and Escape had the built-in pad. I dislike the stick-on one because it has a battery that will (admittedly in some years) run out and then it's not a user-replaceable battery.

Is the pad a dealer install only item or did you install it yourself?

I paid to have it dealer installed (per Ford’s recommendation) but after looking at the directions for programming I think it can be done by owner.

For 2025 and 2026 the wireless keypad needs to be programmed by the service department. After that, you can mount it wherever you want.

That stick on Keypad is such a joke. When we factory ordered our 24 Maverick Lariat Tremor I wanted the Pillar Keypad as we had it on our 2014 Escape. When we picked up the truck finally after 6 months to build it, the salesman handed me the keypad and said they couldn't connect it and would have to come back to connect, 6 months later it was connected after they found anther new one in package with the code. Damn I thought it was a joke fart noise sound maker by looking at it.. I found when we ordered the truck on Ford's Website still had the 2023 pictures with the keypad on the door pillar. A year and a half later I'm still mad that Ford somewhat scammed me for this I think $250 bulky keypad stick on toy
