Yes, another thread on bed covers. This one is targeted to a particular type of bed cover and cost range. I didn't want to spend this much, but my wife insisted on a hard top that can't be cut into (easily). Poll is above, please let me know if I missed any. My pick is the Undercover Armor Flex, but I have zero hands on experience with any of them.

MTC Voted Best Tri-Fold Bed Cover between $800-1,200 winner is currently a tie between the BAK MX4 and Undercover Armor Flex. My vote is for the Armor Flex with the Line X spray coating to reduce scratches. Other might appreciate the 3rd brake light visibility of the MX4 in the folded and upright locking position. Both have a lot of similarities as the companies are under the same umbrella.

Update
Great Price on the BAK MX4 here as of 3/24 < Price has expired

Update
4/1 to 4/30 there is a $100 mail in rebate on the Undercover Armor Flex and Ultra Flex

I'm curious what the results of this poll will be as I too am in the market for a tonneau cover. So many choices, it's hard to pick.

I've had the Bak G2 and Gator FX on previous trucks. I like the G2 better than the Gator. Their warranties aren't as great as their pricier brothers but both lasted the years, 7 and 8 respectively, until I sold the trucks.

YMMV...

Every type has advantages and disadvantages. It really is difficult 😣. If you decided on a type you’re half way there.

Thanks, but that does not qualify as a hard Tri Fold between $800-1,200.

Thanks for the feedback! Greatly appreciated. The BAK G2 is on my short list.

It all comes down to money, needs, and real world use.

Thanks, I was trying to remove the cost factor and make It an even playing feild of utility, and world use. From what I can tell all these these tri fold covers have very similar characteristics. I’m looking for the one that does it all the best. Hope it to get some real world experience. My lack of experience may lead me to buy one that: lacks a feature I need, leaks terribly, cumbersome/hard to remove, or….

I was thinking of getting the Undercover Flex (It opens up completly without resting on the cab like the Backflip). Anyone know the difference between the original, ultra and the armor?

And looks and brand recognition. Many people have BakFlips because of name despite comparable brands.

I ordered the Xceed from Xtang so don’t know how well it will work but soon as I get it and install it I’ll chime in.

I like my Ford-branded tonneau. Factory installed, no muss no fuss! It’s around the $1200 mark, so it’s in the ballpark. You may be able to get one from Ford accessories with at least a 10 or 15% discount.

I went with the Gator FX3. I liked the FRP top panels(supposedly more impact resistant and stays cooler in the heat than aluminum ) and the price. Don't have my Maverick yet.

Actually paid $685 +tax($723) from real truck in January.

Not sure how new this comparison is. The armor has all the ultra features but also added the Line X coating on the top.

Added to this list. There are soooo many of these things!

That is a good price for it! Since the MSRP is over $800 it still counts on the list.😃

Part of me wants to order the bed cover, but I’m waiting as the warranty clock starts right away.

Don't think you can go wrong with any of them. Ordered and extand Solid Fold 2.0. Did not see that so voted for the one that says 4.0. Purchased that one for the price and ease of installation and removal. Paid $794, which is below your range as well. Also it was the strongest supporting over 600 lbs. Ordered around Christmas and came January 3rd from https://tonneaucovered.com/

Like many will get to install it in the fall with an October order.
