Best bug shield?

Love my truck but forgot how the windshield in a truck is a bug magnet. Any of you using a “bug deflector” that keeps your windshield clean? If so what brand and model?

Just bought one from the Ford website and picked it up at the dealer on Thursday. Have not installed it yet and probably won't for a while since the instructions say to install it with temperatures 60+ and forecast is for a high in the fifties for the next week or so. It's got plenty of tape to hold it onto the hood but I don't really want to see it go flying down the road without me. It's made by Lund but has Ford embossed in one of the corners.

I just got the AVS Bugflector II from RealTruck.com for a discounted price of $50 after chatting with them and asking for a Maverick Truck Club discount. It is wide enough to also protect the fenders, and attaches without tape using the Maverick’s hood screws. I am returning the Ford one I purchased that relies on tape.

I want this one, but it has been discontinued. The claim is that the hump causes the hood to flutter at high speeds. I see that there are several different fixes for the flutter, too bad I cannot find one anywhere, even after calling Lund to see if they had any back stock laying around. I plan on ordering the Areo ll that screws in (Don't like the taped on kind). I will try FABMAV's suggestion and call real turck and try to get a discount.

This is what I have also. Don't think the ones that sit flat against the hood actually deflect anything other than what hits it. The Bugflector creates a small air wave up over the hood and helps push bugs over the cab. I know it's doing it's job when my hood is wet because the beads of water don't get blown back toward the windshield. They only move forward when I hit the brakes.

I have the Lund that fits close to the hood and I offer one piece of advice. Do not use the surface prep before applying the bug shield. It removed the clear coat and started bubbling the paint on my one day old hood.

I installed the lund . I was real hesitant with the stick on option. My previous trucks were all bolt on.
Not really sure if it's deflecting anything , it does look really nice and compliments truck overall

I just called Real Truck this morning, talked to Charlie. They will not give a discount to MTC Members on this item. The price is $64.99 plus $9.99 shipping plus tax . They do offer discounts on other items like bed covers etc. just not on this item. So forget that chit! The Auto Ventshade 25980 Bugflector II on e-bay is a much better deal (same price but no shipping charges). I will call a few local Ford dealers and see if I can get the bug deflector using my Ford Pass points 1st.

Update: After talking to 2 different dealers, Ford can only get the Lund brand (that is flush mount to the hood with tape). Looks like E-bay is the way to go.

Avs bugflector because it covers fenders and isn't stick on . sits high enough off Hood to clean underneath it with a sponge .
