I have had this idea forever but didnt know how to achieve it. But here it is!

I was swapping my wheels plastidip from bronze gold to brass monkey, apparently changing tires will destroy your plastidip job, and i was researching ways to get it off chemically if peeling didnt work. (WD-40/GoofOff/GooGone was the answer).
I was removing all my bronze gold and noticed i could spray my rag then rub it against dry old plastidip and i could control what i got off alot better.

I was trying to achieve this look forever on the prepping side before spray but the paint never stayed where i wanted it to.

The trick was to spray down towel and keep the pressure on the outsides of the grate then run the towel left and right, being careful not to apply pressure to the center of the towel as it was passing over the lines.

So im sure this would work for those grate designs up by the back glass/front bumper/side badges?. Just pick a contrasting color from black and it will look real nice.
Sidenote the here is brass monkey color wheels

and the old bronze gold that didnt hold up after tires got replaced. neither matches the lariat bronze trim :(

You might go to YouTube and look up DYC (Dip Your Car). He has a lot of how to videos on this. One of my FAV channels.

Cool idea. Would like to this, but find a color that would be a close match to Area51. Thanks for the idea.
