01/22/2025 - Beer of the Day

Another addition.
Afternoon beer after visiting the Planning Board at the new La Taverna de Ricky in Álamos Sonora Mexico.
Enjoyed a Kross Stout from Cervecería Kross located in Curacavi, Melipilla, Chile.

It's a lighter Cream Stout, a good drink on this partly cloudy late January day. I like that Beers imported into Mexico are required to have Lot Batch Numbers and Consume By Dates.

Founded in 2003, it's a newer South American Brewery, inspired by the owners overseas gig in Ireland as a wine salesman...

I like Atwater D Light(Detroit Tigers beer...I don't follow baseball but it's much better than the macros) for my "lawn mower beer." Bell's Two-Hearted for dinner, special occasions, etc.

Oh yeah, and I do love Miller High Life. I've got the time, and they've got the beer!

Not sure how I missed this thread; thanks for starting it.

In Mexico specifically, I have stumbled upon some nice craft beer places over the years and have enjoyed some surprisingly good stuff. In restaurants, micheladas using Negra Modelo (or Indio) were my go-to when traveling in Monterrey or CDMX. It was funny to me that a “michelada” is something very different outside of Chihuahua where I spent a lot of time in years past.

I’ll come back and update in a few hours when I crack into the fridge at home.

Double Half-Life, Manhattan Project, Dallas, TX, USA

They say it is a hazy aka "New England" IPA, but it is not the haziest or sweetest of the style that I've had, even amongst our local brewers. It is tasty.

Manhattan Project is decently solid across a range of styles, and all their stuff is atomic-themed. Great branding IMHO.

Difficult can to photograph, but the beer goes down easy.

Symbol is an experimental low-volume offshoot of local nice-guys 3 Nations Brewing.

01/25/2025 - Beer of the Day

Another addition.
Early Evening Beer. Neither my wife,nor I wanted to cook, so it's off to Charisma's in Álamos Sonora Mexico. Enjoyed a Los Hopes , another fine crafts beer from Cervecería Yoreme located in Navojoa, Sonora, Mexico.

This one is a Blonde Ale, which I'm not normally fond of. However, it's been an unseasonably warm January, so it was appropriate.

I've been away from this thread and I have a few beers to update soon... However, we've left Álamos, Sonora, Mexico for at least the next 18 months so won't be showing off Mexican craft beers for a while...

I will offer this... Safeway had a bargain last Friday where I purchased a 15 can Four Peaks variety pack (3 of 5 types each) for $8.99.. But you had to buy 2... So 30 12oz cans of Four Peaks (Kilt Lifter, etc...) for $17.98. 60cents a 12oz can.
