The issue with those plastic drops in bed liners is, they trap moisture and then you have a huge rust issue. Now, if you spray the best with rust-proof protection, then place the bed liner you won't have the problem.
And the drain holes usually get clogged with debris that makes its way behind the liner, but its out of sight and out of mind.
I live in San Diego California
So salty roads are not an issue
Salty drivers though.

I’m getting spray in but I’m just curious, it’s called a hard drop in. Can it be easily taken out and put back in?
Short answer is yes. My former long bed (8ft) F150 not so easy. A 4 1/2 foot Maverick probably not so bad.

Thanks. Very good, I’m with ya. If it’s able to be put in and out again easily the short bed should be pretty easy.

If I wasn’t married to the Lux package id consider this as I like the look of a painted bed and could drop the bed cover in whenever I was headed to pick up anything at Home Depot.

I wanted the drop-in bedliner to my XLT but my dealer said it would delay production so I'm going aftermarket.
after seeing a video about Ford's accessory site I went there and they have a Modular liner but no image
I'd like to know what it looks like.
I had the same question and I found a company called DualLiner and they make a modular liner. It is the only company I saw that does modular. I watched some videos and since the sides are not attached to the bottom one user brought up the point that the gap between the sides and bottom allowed dirt to go into the bed and it was hard to clean out. Another liner is the Bed Rug that covers the bottom and sides which I may consider if I have an issue with scuffs on the side of the bed.

Have a DIBL in my '22 Maverick. Ordered one for my '24 which in coming the 1st week of January. Have had 6 different pickups over the years, all with DIBL's, with no issues. Some salt here in SW Ohio but not much.
