I have a hybrid xlt Lux that is scheduled to be built in mid-May, and have a question about the bed cubbies. Do they only come with one installed standard and if so, what is in place of the other?

My XLT with Lux pkg had the 400w outlet and bed light on drivers side. Bed cubby on passenger side. I added a cubby to the drivers side, and moved the outlet into the bed cubby.

Well that’s pretty smart. I like it but did you relocate the light?

I'm adding the drivers side cubby this week. Roughly $55 with shipping - copying others here is seems smart to put a USB plug, light, and AC cigarette plug inside the cubby so if you ever haul dirt, landscaping junk, etc inside the cubby so a closed lid will protect the electronics from dirt, water, etc. Several DIY threads on this site with ideas.

I was going to install the driver side cubby as well but really like the light location there! I’m not sure how much I’ll use the power outlet (the easier thing to move), whereas I know the light will be helpful once I get a tonneau cover.

I added the driver side cubby. It was easy to do but be aware the blank cover plate that the truck came with has 2 less screws holding it on. I had some already that I used for the cubby install but they don't match the factory screws in color

Not really possible the way the light is made. I added an LED on each side of the bed, and used the oem wiring and switch to run them. The extra pigtail wiring that comes with the truck will plug into the connector for the oem light. Moved the switch to the 12v power outlet cover. I copied this from another member on the forum. I think adding the cubby to the drivers side is a must, and when you see the back of the drivers side taillight without a cubby after a few days driving the truck, when you’ve had rain or snow, it’s easy to see why. Also installed a couple of wedges behind the lights to turn them just slightly to light up more of the bed

And the extra screws from dealer are sold in 4pk, for like $15!!!!! I matched the thread, color, and length at hardware store for less than $2 total!!!!!!

I like the way you angled your lights to shine up into the bed.

thanks..............where I mounted them would shine mostly on the bed sides, couple wooden wedges cut out the shape of the lights and spray undercoating turned them enough to light up the entire bed.

Thank you for your fast reply.
That looks like it will work for me. I have a tonneau cover. The cab mounted cargo lights are pretty much useless. With the cover on, which is 99.9% of the time.
I'm definitely interested in installing these lights.
Thank you again take care.
