Agree with the tires. I am hoping the vehicle is lite enough that it wouldn't dig in from excessive wheel spin because it does not have low range. Past experience tells me low range allows the vehicle to walk across the sand, versus digging through it. Beach use does not always involve baha speeds and throwing sand like I have seen.
Center of the gear puck is has a button stamped with an "L". There's your low gear.

I would think that is not low range gearing, just holding 1st gear. Big difference. Also, all other comments correct on tire pressure and having recovery gear. I have been beaching for many years following those practices and never had trouble. Just wondering about Maverick's capabilities.

Makes o difference if the speed is the same. Don't think i have ever used low range on a beach only when moving something heavy or crawling over rocks. High range allows better control because your engine rpm is so low you won';t have the power to spin the wheels so you just move along. In the old days when i was into tricked out v8's in jeeps they had so much hp that a tiny jiggle of the gas would break tires loose and you would bog down in low range. High range was protection against that happening. If you plan on getting tires for the beach i would suggest you go to a shop by the beach and ask them what is best. I've used BF Goodrich ats without issues on the beaches near my home. Be aware that to much flotation will cause you to slid around easy in snow and mud. For that application your better off with a more aggresive tread to dig in to solid stuff to get you down the road. When i was building hospitals in the Reno Nevada area i was always crossing the Seirra Nevada mountains in the winter and i learned it was best to travel when the roads were stll frozen because the surface would have texture from ice crystals for grip but when it begins to thaw the surface is covered with waters a good lubricant and you go sliding.....and of course drive slow always under those conditions. Most would want to hurry and cross before it froze and i would see many snow ank buried cars on my way across after it froze. Those are dangerous mountains to cross for sure.

I driven on some pretty loose sand recently and the truck seemed to manage it fairly well. I only lower pressure if i get stuck but i also carry a sand anchor and some traction boards and a small shovel just in case that doesn't work.

sounds like you are set to go. Do you have at least one set of chains? Using them is like adding tires with an aggressive tread and lugs and then some. I always carry a set for emergencies....chuckle....if you have all these items you will never need them, well, untill the day you clean your truck then forget to put them on board and you go on a trip.......

Ive never carried chains but i might have to try that out. Growing up in a beach city fishing, you always carried gear to either get out or help others.

cheapest insurance you will ever buy. They can also come in handy for extra traction if you are trying to pull someone that is stuck
