Just taking a poll here: when backing up or turning on an incline, has anyone else experienced noise from the back window area like in this video? Mine has done it since nearly new but seems to be a bit worse as I put on more miles and i guess loosen things up. My Ridgeline did something similar and I really hoped to not experience it with this truck.

Good afternoon. Are you still experiencing this noise concern? If so, I would like to look into it on my end. Please send over a private message with your VIN and the name/location of your local Ford dealer.

Mine was doing the same thing. got some thick silicone grease and greased the upper and lower track. Worked the window open/closed a few times over 5-6 days and the noise went away. Wiped away the excess grease. On a side note I put that grease on the passenger side weatherstripping to calm some wind noise.

Thanks so much for the response and your remedy. Last night i was tinkering with the window back there and discovered that it appeared to be coming from that track area. I tightened up one the bolts very carefully due to all the plastic and it seemed much quieter this morning in the usual spots that seem noisy. I’ll try the grease to see if it gets rid of it all together.

Just an update- grease didn’t get rid of the noise for me but I isolated where it was coming from. In the passenger side corner, at the end of the rear sliding window track, there was some type of black tape covering part of the assembly for the rear window cable. When I removed that tape and pressed down or pulled up on the end of the track, it made the exact sound I experienced in my video. Not sure if there is a lack of adhesive on the plastic and it’s got excess play or Movement, but I took some neoprene foam cut to size and wedged it in an open space so as to apply pressure to that end and account for the play. So far it’s much, much quieter. Just sharing in the chance there’s another person that some day experiences this very annoying noise.
