Hi all, I have searched through these forums and haven’t found anything specific to the noise I’m hearing coming from the rear window. I have a 2025 XLT hybrid with a fixed rear window.
I’ve attached a couple videos I’ve taken. I admit that it may be hard to distinguish over video, but I’m hearing a tapping noise intermittently. It happens at all speeds, all temps, all types of roads (does seem to be more excessive on bumpier roads). It sounds like it could be a wire hitting the window, metal on metal somewhere, or it could be the window itself and not being seated/sealed properly. I honestly cannot determine where it is coming from. It is definitely more pronounced on the passenger side to center, not on the driver side, but not sure whether it’s originating up or down. It honestly just sounds like it’s coming from the window itself.
What I’ve done so far:
I have tried to press on/secure anything and everything visible behind the rear seat. I have tried to press on the headliner in all areas. I have driven with nothing in rear seat storage, no bed cover, nothing in bed, rear seat up and rear seat down. Anything that is visisble to me, I have tried to secure with no success. Any ideas?
