Is there anyone running the Axxess AXDSPX-A2B2? I see it mentioned a few times but according to their website the Maverick is not listed as compatible. I would like to use it due to having the DSP built in but just want to confirm it will work.

22-24 Maverick with Sync3 and 25+ Maverick with Sync4 will be compatible with the A2B interface.

base / non-B&O 22-24 Maverick will not be compatible. that's probably why you're seeing that message.

I emailed and the response was:

" The AXDSPX-A2B2 has not been tested, and confirmed with working in the Maverick at this time. There are differences between vehicles that use this interface, and updates have been made to work with these vehicles so once the vehicle is confirmed the application list will be updated. "

After comparing its compatibility to other units listed to work with the Maverick I decided to roll the dice and order one. There was a lot of overlap in models so hopefully it works.

as long as you have the ability to return it with low/no fees I don't see any harm in trying.

I know @Aaron F has a PAC Amp Pro: https://pac-audio.com/products/ap4-fd32

what's critical with these devices is that it can identify the system sounds - door chimes, ACC alerts, collision detection & AEB, etc. otherwise those things get passed as regular audio and then amplified and they're extremely loud.

you also, of course, get a cleaner digital signal using A2B.

I am not familiar with this model. It would probably depend entirely upon whether they have the vehicle specific harnesses for the Maverick. I know the PAC module that I have is not compatible with the 2025 B&O system, as they change the plug to the factory subwoofer from the 22-24 models.

I'd expect that to match up to other Ford vehicles with Sync4, though.

Keep us updated on how it works out for you. I haven't decided if I'm going to try to do anything with my 2025 yet.

So I have a 2024. Unfortunately I got it off eBay since they were extremely cheaper there so no return. Plugs all appear the same.

If I look at something like the PAC AP4-FD31 it shows:

2021-2024FORDBRONCO
2019-2022FORDEDGE
2020-2024FORDEXPLORER
2018-2024FORDF-150
And more including the Maverick.

Where if i look at the AXDSPX-A2B2 it shows:
Bronco 2020-2023
Edge 2019-2023
Explorer 2020-2023
F-150 2018-2022
And others but no Maverick.

Being there is overlap in models I feel it should work. The only thing I am questioning is I was watching an install video and apparently either you tell it what vehicle it is in or it somehow auto detects. So I may need to pay around to see which other Ford model is close enough for it to work in the Maverick.

Did some testing yesterday. Had it connected to a speaker that had a line input. Its funny it lists a 2022 Maverick in the setup app but if you select it just defaults to an Escape. I set it to the Bronco (not sure if this matters) with OE amp. I got signal from all the main connections (Front, rear, sub). Volume works, fader works, sub doesn't fade. Tested the remote turn on and that turned on/off with the truck. The only issue I am seeing is the unit has a light on it. It blinks twice which according to the manual indicates it is not getting the A2B signal but I would think it is since it is working. The only other thing, which may be normal when using any of these interfaces, is I was hoping to keep the rear speakers powered off the main radio unit but once this is connected that seems to be disabled. Is there anything else you think I should test before I fully commit to wiring this in?

Does it have a loopback harness in the front for the rear speakers? If you omit using that and just use the front speakers as your signal source, maybe you will keep factory power to your rear and center channel.

couple questions. #1, you mentioned if you select maverick it defaults (or changes?) to Escape and then you set it to Bronco Sport. did you do any testing with Maverick/Escape selected?

#2 do you need sub fade? that's not a factory feature, it is linked to the rear channel, unfortunately. usually this is easy to deal with via gain, but you don't want to fade front to rear ever after you initially set it up. personally I don't care, but I can see how someone would want the potential of being able to fade. I just don't use that once set up.

#3 regarding A2B testing I would definitely test system sounds. seatbelt reminder is an easy one to test. if you have adaptive cruise I'd test the warning ding and resume control sounds also.

It has a harness to plug into the front to feed your aftermarket amp to the center and rear speakers. I did not use any of that for this testing. I don't know if it is standard for these type of modules to disable the rear since it picks up the rear for an RCA out. I know you can reassign the outputs so maybe I'll test disabling the rear out and see if it goes back to factory.

I did not try since the escape it was picking was 15-17 model or something like that. I chose the Bronco since I saw a video and apparently they have a similar setup (Bi-amped front and sub on B&O amp).

I mentioned the non sub fade as a working feature. I know you do not want the sub to fade. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

Didn't think about the seat belt. I did test the rear packing alert and it dinged through what sounded like the gauge cluster. Not sure if it always has or not.
