Well, USAA has already determined that they aren’t going to cover the damages. 4 years of employment decades of policy payments and first ever claims ( yes been very lucky )
I am bummed, haven’t seen the damage Aunt used my vehicle to take my mom food shopping… I sit here waiting, each conversation the damaged areas grow, and import information the added.

Thankfully it WAS not my Maverick, 10yo Prius got a cracked taillight, bummer and side swipe paint add of the other hit and run SUV.

Condolences to your auntie. At first, I thought your title was click-bait.

Kinda is. Since it wasn’t the Maverick but hey it shows people can just be impatient jerks to ANY hybrid. Maybe its a hybrid thing. No deers where injured in this hit and run.

What am I missing.. huh? I’m really lost as to what happened, how it happened and how an insurance company would not cover damages on a vehicle that was rear ended.

Since I worked for USAA for many years, they paid very well, and treated me and everyone else extremely nicely.
Learned a lot on the whys and hows of insurance. So used that to get the cheapest rates possible. My deductible is in the multiple low thousands by my choice.
That likely was the reason it decided, secondly, That it was hit and run was not known to me. Police where called insurance info was asked. I assumed wrongly that the other SUV was there. That wrong info was shared to USAA so everyone on my side expected the other guys insurance would cover it.

It was actually 10% worse, licked my thumb and removed the other SUV paint, underlying paint looked like its aged 10years. Which is the age of the Prius. So no different. That the other SUV paint came off leads me to believe it’s likely a Ford.
