Are Vinyl Graphics Still a Thing?

This is my first post. We (wife of 54+ years—since we were 17—and I) bought a 2025 Maverick Lariat Hybrid in Azure Gray a week ago, and ever since I’ve been buying everything on Real Truck, Amazon and Etsy to make it “ours”. I assume there is a tendency on most owners’ parts to try to make their vehicle unique, and that certainly applies to me. I‘ve seen quite a few vinyl graphics, a few of which appealed to me. My question is whether I would be wandering back to the 80’s if I did some kind of nature (mountains and trees) graphic. I also like some patriotic themes, but I never served my country in the military and I don’t want anyone thinking I’m a pretender. Thoughts?

I haven't seen any Mavs in my area with special decals that don't appear to be work trucks. But really Its your truck, do what you want with it. As far as I'm concerned if they aren't making your payment on it then their opinion on what you to do your Mav doesn't mean squat.

Nobody’s going to call you a ”pretender” for being patrioti. Our nations symbols belong to all of us.

If you decide upon your actions based on someone else's opinions, consider that you might be much happier after you stop doing that.

As @Merrick said, if you are a citizen, you can be a patriot without being a veteran.
I've got an American Flag tow hitch cover, and I support veterans without being one.
No apologies given or necessary.

Contrary to graphics being a thing of the past, cars are entirely wrapped in graphics.
My sister had a full hood Spider Man on her Mitsi Spyder. Made it easy to spot in a lot.

Enjoy your Maverick, however you deck it out.

There's a thread around here of someone who recreated the look of the 80's style trucks with the center down the side in white. That's not currently a "thing" but it looks great so maybe it should be! So start your own "thing" and see who follows you.

Do what floats your boat and do not worry about what others say or think. It never occurred to me that I should do what others say. When I traded in my RAM the dealer removed all vinyl I put on it. No heartburn here, it’s their truck now. Vinyl comes vinyl goes. Enjoy your truck.

Part of the fun of having a Maverick is there are so many ways to customize it and make it yours. We went with a mountain theme, I was afraid it was too much but it came out well. Now that there is an identical Maverick in our neighborhood, we are glad we did it.

Thanks for your thoughts. I wasn’t looking for permission so much as gathering information. The more info I have the better the decisions I make.
