Heading tomorrow to talk to Damond motorsports. To work out a deal to take my truck to take “measurements” for new performance parts. Hopefully everything works out tomorrow. Is there any vendors on here or people that can give me advice on what to expect? What is reasonable to ask for as far as compensation in general? What should should they be offering?
any helpful advice from consumer and vendors is appreciated.

I'm both a consumer and previously worked as a design engineer for a popular aftermarket brand. They still borrow my truck occasionally for tests and media.

In my experience, there is no guaranteed compensation. Ideally, they should make an effort to leave some products installed on the vehicle after the parts are fully designed, tested, manufactured, and a professional installation video is made. But there is no guarantee that the parts will reach the market, and some stuff gets pretty expensive to give away. For example, a lighting company might not give you a $2,500 light bar, but they would probably give you a set of fog lights or offroad pods. A performance shop might not give you a $5,000 turbo kit, but they might give you an intake or a catch can. You can also get copies of professional photos they take, and bragging rights that your vehicle was involved. My wife is not a car person, but she still thinks it's cool that her Mustang is in a catalog.. even though it's only the back half!

A good vendor should offer a loaner vehicle to drive in the meantime. We would give them the company truck, or rent a car on the company account. They should also be reasonably transparent about the process. We would offer a tour of the facility, show the parts we planned to design or install, and explain what we intended to do / how we were going to use the vehicle (ex: we'd tell them we plan to remove the front bumper, if we need to test drive it, or where the off-site photo shoot will be).

My thoughts exactly. I was under maybe the impression that if the part is expensive asking for a discount and or possibly an option as far as free labor. Or whatever services that they offer in general a discount and labor for any kind of future installs or workmanship. I never thought my head that I would want something free that would cost thousands of dollars I figured something along the lines of, if they design a part that’s possibly a few hundred dollars that it’s either a discount highly reduced and free install. Is that possibly reasonable? I absolutely do not expect something. That’s thousands of dollars to do to be free for me. I think preliminary that they want to keep my global for a week or broken down to a few days extended. I just don’t wanna be rude demanding anything over the top but I also wanna be reasonable. Your response shares a huge light on a good starting point for me. I definitely wanna see the newer engine, Mavericks excel and parts and it is very exciting to be a part of that.

Yep, that sounds reasonable.

In my old job, we would try to leave at least a few hundred bucks worth of product installed. Plus a discount if they wanted to buy anything else.
