Anyone Try Aftermarket Displays/Head Units??

On any of these after market radios with the larger screens, does google maps fill the entire screen or just a portion of the screen? The main reason for me wanting a larger screen is so google maps fills the entire 13" screen. The stock screen is smaller.

Yes you can toggle how much of the screen fills with the bottom left button of android auto. it looks like a split square and it will maximize your current app or split screen with your previous app and current app.

I just ordered one of these before I saw your post and it's on the way now. I had read that the install video for the Lariat Lux was missing. Looking at the included cables, I recognized that #11 was to plug into the Sync 3 APIM and was wondering if you connected into that? In order to get to it, the ACM would need to come out so that you can access the APIM because it is mounted above it. I know that would be missing from install video for the XL/XLT, but I had seen it done in a Sync 4 upgrade video and I felt confident I could find it and tap into it without the directions.

My Lariat didn’t come with any Sync. So not sure I’d that unit is even compatible with one that has Sync?

Hi,
I just installed the Dasaita unit in my 2023 Lariat hybrid this past week and I love it so far compared to the stock radio.

The install was not bad at all with the help of their YouTube video. The kit comes with lots of extra cables. I only used what I needed for it work with the minimum. I did not need the SIM card, GPS antenna or the extra usb cables. I’m satisfied with the stock look it gives it.

FYI:
The only problem I noticed was that with calls people say I sound far away. So I need to figure out why that is.
The reverse camera seems a little slower to engage than the stock radio.

I did contact the manufacturer support about this and they sent me a link to update the firmware and MCU. I haven’t done this yet to see if it fixes any of these couple issues.

My Maverick came with the no SYNC radio. So installing this unit was nothing too concerning for me.

Doesn't this unit come with its own phone microphone that works separately? The stock microphone for my 2023 XLT Hybrid is on the drivers side pillar. The videos I have seen to install this kit has you running a wire up through the passengers pillar and to the center roof area.

I ordered the Dasaita Head unit for my 2023 Hybrid XLT. Apparently this head unit comes with its own android and Apple CarPlay based system and doesn't rely on the Ford Sync 3 or 4 configuration. Its wiring harness communicates with our CAN bus system. Once I get it, I'll update you on my results of the install.

I have a few reasons for buying this particular unit. First, I drive ALOT. It's what I do for a living. I need the bigger screen so I can see on the map a bigger radius of where I am going. Second, this unit has the necessary harness so I don't have to cut and splinter. I did that when I installed my aftermarket amp! It was a pain. And then, two months after I bought the amp, aftermarket wiring harnesses came out!

The Ford Head unit has its moments. Sometimes it freezes up. And the touch screen isn't as repsonsive as it should be. When you are driving, you shouldn't have to double or triple tap the screen to get it to scroll or move to the next page.

And lastly, the Dasaita head unit comes with a 30-band equalizer! For most of you, this means nothing. For me, it means everything! The Ford stock head unit comes with a 3-band equalizer. Hi, mid and low range. Thats it. For those of us who played musical instruments, or have worked in the sound departments of businesses, sound is everything. And the more you can adjust it to your prefrences, the better! This option was the game changer for me. I kept looking for equalizers to buy, but after all the hassle of creating my own wiring harness for my amp, I didn't want to create more wiring by installing an equalizer.

And lastly, this unit screws right into the existing holes for the stock unit.
