More evidence "Neutral" in a hybrid is just a way of thinking... (you are not moving / removing any gears)...

Was 93°F yesterday.
Was using A/C on my 8.3 mile downhill coast.

In "Neutral" wind resistance exactly holds me to speed limit +/- 4 mph.

In "neutral" not much is supposed to happen.

Since I was using A/C I was draining the HV battery.

When battery got to below 30%, engine started, and started to recharge the HV battery to 40%.... while coasting in "pretend neutral".

I don't find it amazing, any topic related to how the eCVT works relative to the P-R-N-L-D selections, as well as drive mode characteristics is great. Glad it's available on this forum for those interested. Like James, I've been married since 1968.
