Any parts store make keys for maverick

All i want is a key to simply start the truck as a spare key with the chip in it so it can be programmed.dont need the fob.do any big box stores do it or good place on the internet. No
lock smiths closer than 50 miles but may have to drive aways maybe.

Not sure about for the Maverick, but around hear locally, Ace Hardware makes and programs chip keys. May want to check into it. Also your local Ford dealer may be able to get a regular key for it? Either one would probably be cheaper than a locksmith. Just my thoughts anyway. Haven't priced a locksmith locally but they usually charge well for their services.

Pretty much figured out you got to get a fob to get the key.was told the chip is in the fob not the key.lock smith can do it but like you said,very expensive.going to see what the dealer says about cost but im sure its not cheap either.

I inquired about an extra key when I bought my Maverick, I was quoted $216, I said I will think about it. Since I got 2 keys & remotes when I bought my Taurus in 04 & have never lost one, I will currently pass on the 3rd key. Parts stores I locksmiths most likely will not be making them, I know a locksmith who has been in the business for 45 years & the cost of the device to make side cut & programming keys is too expensive, some manufacturers will not release the info to the aftermarket to make additional keys.

Awhile ago had a "smart" key made for a mustang at Home depot, was $80ish
