Is there a way to get Android Auto to use the trucks data plan instead of my phones limited data plan? I have tried changing the bluetooth setting to the trucks but it changes it to Android Auto-ed79. I have the Motorola wireless adapter but I don't know if that is what is causing the problem

You have to connect to the truck's Wi-Fi hotspot. I think you get a 3-month trial with limited gigabytes, unless you're planning on paying for the hotspot plan.

Android auto itself doesn't use much data, it's depends on the apps you're using, such as streaming music. My Google maps app has only used 25 MB this month, whereas Tidal music has used 1.2 GB.

I have the unlimited data plan from Ford. I do use Pandora for music. When I disconnect the adapter and use regular Bluetooth it used the truck's data plan

It is. Phones only have a single wifi antenna so they can only connect to a single SSID. The MA-1 is communicating with your phone via wifi so you're phone can connect to the Maverick wifi. You should be able to use wired Android Auto with your phone connected to the Maverick's wifi.

Ok thanks. I bought the Motorola wireless adapter so I guess I'm just going to have to bite the bullet
