The 25 EB should have kept the analog gauge cluster. I am getting used to the digital speedometer which is easier for me to read and the tach is a odd looking slide bar but realize its not something I use/need anymore. Bottom line, new gauge cluster is OK but I still prefer old school gauges.
I agree 100% that Ford should have kept the analog cluster.

Yesterday, after saving sufficient funds, I went to the local Ford dealer and was ready to order a new XLT. The test drive went really well - smooth ride, adequate acceleration, no rattles. Its a great truck. I was pleased with everything but that horrible digital cluster. The digital speedo, gauges, (and "analog" classic view) are the worst I have ever seen. Economy cars have better clusters. Perhaps Ford ran out of design money and could not afford to program a decent cluster?

My purchase is now on hold until I can complete some research into what is involved in installing a 2024 analog cluster in a 2025. The 2024 had an excellent cluster. Apparently the old cluster fits and the connectors look the same. There are some good threads on this site with info. Alternatively, I could get a low mileage 2024 XLT.

After 6 months since I last posted about gauges I am comfortable with the 25 gauge cluster but not my favorite and thats ok. Sorta like the dial shifter, once used to it I am fine with it.
For me the info screen and sec 4 makes a positive difference and much easier to read and use even with the lack if knobs which I also miss. My suggestion is not look at a 24 gauge cluster and embrace the 25 as it is, warts and all or as noted look for a low mileage 24.

At my age if my truck gets me where I want to go with reasonable comfort thats all I really need.:)

The mechanical improvements on the '25 over the '24 in either engine model definitely out weigh the gauge cluster IMO. I would either get used to it or swap in the older one if it's easily doable.
