I did not order one but bought mine in Albertville. Also the Ford dealership in Huntsville, Woody Anderson, supposedly has 2 that just came in a FWD XLT and a Lariat.
Must be customer orders. The only ones they're listing is that red Larry that had listed for a long time, like $42,000
Long Lewis does the same. A lot of their inventory on their site ends up being customer orders and not actually available for purchase unless the sale falls through.

My understanding was the people could not get approved for financing.

Why are you anticipating a circus? My credit's north of 830, and I only work part-time (transitioning to retirement), don't anticipate a problem with financing a portion of my Mav. Long history with Ford will be a plus, too. I discussed this in advance with both dealers I was considering, they offered to sell / finance me TWO Mavs, lol!
I have no doubt I could walk into any lot in town and walk away with any vehicle I wanted. But the Great Recession abused me and so I'm still a little touchy despite evidence to the contrary.
