Maybe they are waiting for parts. Maybe they know information that I don't know. Or maybe they found out that it took their techs 4-5 hours to complete a recall that only pays 2 hours, and they are not enthusiastic about taking on any more! (my suspicion would be the latter)

If Ford does release updated info about the recall/airbags, myself or someone else will post details here.
I'm trying to get a hold of the service department to talk to them about it. Because my truck is at the dealership now. Thanks also they called me last week saying the parts are in.

Finally got the truth. The right parts are in but, there is a new software update that Ford just released. 2 Mavericks were done last week and the dash was lit up like a Christmas tree. So the software update is to fix that. Also they said its going to take 4 to 5 hours to complete. Wow

Do you have to give the technicians tips?

Would be nice to get a software revision/firmware ID and for which engine/trim levels or one size fits all- Will the software update remove all of the greasy fingerprints left behind ? Anyone dropping a rig off for this job please hand them a pair of mechanix latex size M-L :)

I had some gloves under the seat, but didn't think about offering them to the technician. They had some dried mud on them, but that's still miles better than the oil that ended up on my headliner.

I go in this Friday to see how they're going to fix my dashboard.

Hey Ford, do you think I can get an extra water bottle for being in your dealerships 20 times over the past year? Has to be a record.

Evergreen in Issaquah. Scratched in the driver's corner and have a chip under the radio on the greyish plastic.

Have a light scratch there as well after the recall as well as the dash corner tweeter doesn't sit correctly. How large is the scratch ?

Ford Maverick Airbag Recall Work Completed by Ford Mobile Service PXL_20230329_200418800

The way I see it, I'm not responsible for Ford's poor quality control and I certainly won't be responsible for one of their dealers damaging my vehicle. This is the second time, by the way, that I left with damage. The first one was in multiple places, which has now been taken care of with new panels.

So looks like they're gonna have to find a way to replace this since I don't see how it can be fixed.

Yeah my buddy out here in Utah is also waiting on an entire dash replacement after the recall- I just made the shop manager aware of my issues with fingerprints, panels that are a bit wonky, weather stripping issues- He's getting me in next week to go over the issues and then schedule me an an entire interior detail. Its a good start but I am just spending too much time at the dealer but good folks to work with so it is what it is.
