Aftermarket sunroof?

So I got my mav as someones cancelled order and it didn't include a sunroof. I REALLY wish I had one. . can it be added after the fact?

I've looked at some 3rd party options, people say you can run into issues with them not sealing properly and leaking, I don't want it to look cheap either.. I'm kind of more hoping I can just bring it back to the dealership and they can have the OEM version installed.

Factory sunroof isn't going to happen. The roof stamping is different with the factory sunroof.

Aftermarket options are out there, and they can be make to look okay if installed properly, but they really don't age well. As tempting as they are, I'd stay away. Your just setting yourself up for a weirdly cut headliner and potential water leaks and musty odors down the road.

My 2 cents.
Use your windows and AC and fan. Lean how to be happy without a sunroof. Or sell it at a profit and order another Maverick and don't settle for one without. Cutting any hole in the roof in not a win no matter who does it.

I would just order a 2023 the exact way you want it and trade in when time comes you won’t loose on your trade.

For all that is good and holy do not have someone try to install a 3rd party, aftermarket sunroof in a new car. As someone said above - they do not age well.

We did this with my wife’s old 4Runner…DO NOT, DO NOT do this. Was an absolute nightmare. Took 6 tries to get it to seal right and we ruined a headliner. If it didn’t come factory, skip it

I know a guy who got an aftermarket sunroof in a Volt. (slides up and back)

The key was a highly reputable shop which had installed thousands of them in different cars. They knew what they were doing and knew how to pick and install just the right one.

He had zero complaints. Just a few months before ordering our Mav we had to take our Odyssey to the dealership because I just couldn't figure out how to clean out the drain tubes for the sunroof and it was leaking into the car some. So we decided no sunroof in Mav....
