accessories: dealer install, DIY or other?

I want to get the keypad entry added to my new 24 Mav XLT, as well as splash guards and maybe bed extender. Planning to use points as I have 42,000, and hoping to take advantage of a discount offered if I use by 5/12/24. Are these things best ordered on the Ford website and delivered to me, for DIY install? Are these better for dealer install? Saving money would be great. . . Your thoughts/experience appreciated!

They keypad needs to be programed by the dealer. Be sure to add installation for $24 when you order. If not they can charge a whole lot more.
Mud flaps are a piece of cake to install your self. I just installed mine today.
No idea on the bed extender.
Fyi. All those points seem like a lot. Its not. 🫤
I just used mine for my extended warantee. 43,260 points = $216

If you are asking this you probably don't have what you need to do it yourself. Dealer will charge a lot to install it. Hopefully you have a friend that is a mechanic that would do it for a six pack of their favorite beer!

Mud flaps and bed extender are super easy. If I can do them, anyone can!

Dealer= Keypad. Everything else, do it on your own if you can.

Another question! I have remote start but ONLY through FordPass app. Not sure if that is considered "factory" or not? Which keypad is the right one?

And yet another question - since I have the ability to lock and unlock my Mav via FordPass is the keypad really even necessary? I had the keypad on my 2012 Fusion hybrid that I just sold, so that is what I've been used to.

I like the keypad but never use it when driving of course I have my fob. I find it handy when I run out to the garage at night in my boxers with no key or phone to get something I left in the truck.

I would do it all yourself, the dealer will charge you an installation fee. Except the keyless entry... i wouldn't mess with that.

I have the dealership install. If they mess up, they have to replace. If u mess up…. You’re out of money.
