My wife has a Jeep Renegade Deserthawk, and we have a small succulent in a pot on the dashboard as a unique deco (kinda like how VW Beetles often have a flower) - so... when I picked up my Cactus Gray XLT AWD Maverick last Saturday, I got to thinking about the same idea since both our vehicles have a bit of a 'desert' theme.
Here's what I put into my Maverick today: I 3D printed this faceted pot that I found for free download on Thingiverse (low poly planter) and I sent the creator a tip for their cool work. I upsized the file just a bit to 77mm in the X axis.
I got the fake succulent at Hobby Lobby, and I do ceramic tile work for a job, so I used some epoxy grout to fill the pot. Then I used some double sided carpet tape to hold the pot to the flat spot behind the 8" screen.
I picked this little pot because it's low-poly, faceted design is similar to the unique faceted design on the dashboard. I think it's pretty cool, but I'm guessing most of you will think it's a little odd : )
Here's one of the pix from Thingiverse of the pot. Check it out at www.thingiverse.com/thing:2999036
