Haven't seen any kind of photo, but what you are describing is a drop in bed liner (and I don't know if that has any tailgate protection). A bed mat is typically just a piece that lies on the floor. Some are heavy enough to stay in the bed, some are lightweight and use Velcro attachments.

Not looking for a drop in hard liner - 96J. Not looking for a spray in liner 96G. When selecting 85B you get this pic in the build: it doesn't show the inside of the tailgate. Here's my F150. It has a heavy flexible Bed Mat with Tailgate protection of the same material. My question is, does
selecting 85B get you the bed mat AND the tailgate protection as well.

Here's what a F150 bed mat looks like, just the bed coverage. I haven't seen an OEM bed mat cover the tailgate in at least a decade

Thanks - that explains it. My F150 is almost 19 model years old.
