2025 Maverick AWD Hybrid @ Moab with 1K pounds of gear

Went pretty much anywhere I wanted.I am from Florida and never thought this truck would do what it did.1000# of gear and never disappointed!

Also, I would've expected the wheel spats to get torn off in tricky terrain ... looks like they survived

No damage only been here two days(Moab) Several 4X4 high clearance vehicles only signs.Carrier on rear is tricky on some deep washouts but no damage anywhere.

Might have to go see my cousin that lives in Moab and take my AWD hybrid since you’ve just shown me it will handle the terrain. What mpg did you get? I just got back from a 1200 mile trip to the smokies and got 40.5 mpg.

23 mpg but 1300 # cargo roof rack,bag,2 awnings ,and the back carrier,80 mph.but on trails uses literally no gas went 3 hours in Canyonland and still showed same miles till empty

That’s pretty good mpg considering the speed and load you were carrying. Did you go Arches or Dead Horse Point while in Moab?

Gonna be here a month will go everywhere within 200 miles.My son has an empty rental in Moab this month.Makes a great home base!

36 x 44 cheap Amazon basket, Vevor awnings (bought a tent and screen room to attach from Amazon)and just used Cam buckles through the Flated D Rings.Tested over 2500 miles now up to 90 mph also have a basket bag 4 chairs and luggage in bag.About 120# total up there zero noise or issues!

[/wow a month, most I’ve had was 3 days as we had relative in Colorado and New Mexico to see. It’s been sometime since I was out there and my cousin says there’s a lot more tourists out there than when we were last out there.

The first time I went to Dead Horse Point was years ago, when my cousin who worked in the film business took us out there to show us where the Grand Canyon scene from Thelma and Louise was shot. I also got to see one of the Tbirds used in the movie as he does automobile leases and film locations for movies and commercials.

Cool,not too busy here now.Having a blast.Valley of the Gods in a must see(we went 2 years ago)a lot of movies filmed our there.One of my sons favorite places to camp and we went in a 2wd Santa Fe.Made it no problems

I guess I need to contact my cousin and see if he’s busy. Last time we came through Moab it was just that. Our son was with us and wanted to get to some ghost town that was way up above Moab so we basically just passed through tried to call my cousin but he wasn’t in also planned on stopping at the Moab diner but it was so busy we just kept going. We drove out in the middle of nowhere about 30 miles into a canyon to look at 4-5 old falling down shacks.

as a long time Moab visitor, there are myriad places to go, even wilderness, without having to go on jeep trails. Even a compact car can go almost anywhere there. The only issue is when it rains. But if you WANT to do rugged four-wheeling for it's own sake, there are also plenty of playpens for that, too.

I almost bought a motel there in the 90's. West 100 N, where the food truck park is now. They were asking $240k....
