Believe me I will. I'm going to go spend the night with my truck in the subway parking lot. I don't want to take a chance driving it at all.....my choice. This is my forever vehicle and I don't want to screw it up on the account of something I did that could've been avoided.For sure! I always do if the filter location permits it.
Get some white lithium grease for the seal and threads too. By "grease" in that article you shared I'm assuming they mean molybdenum grease, because yea... that would be dumb. White lithium is perfectly safe to use and you don't need much. Using oil around the seal and threads doesn't do what people think it does. It only makes it harder to remove the next time as that stuff heats up, dries, and hardens.
Keep us updated. If you are getting a tow I'd make sure you are there when they do it.
