For sure! I always do if the filter location permits it.

Get some white lithium grease for the seal and threads too. By "grease" in that article you shared I'm assuming they mean molybdenum grease, because yea... that would be dumb. White lithium is perfectly safe to use and you don't need much. Using oil around the seal and threads doesn't do what people think it does. It only makes it harder to remove the next time as that stuff heats up, dries, and hardens.

Keep us updated. If you are getting a tow I'd make sure you are there when they do it.
Believe me I will. I'm going to go spend the night with my truck in the subway parking lot. I don't want to take a chance driving it at all.....my choice. This is my forever vehicle and I don't want to screw it up on the account of something I did that could've been avoided.

I saw your message alittle late. I just bought the $20 one from Walmart. I took pics of the reader plugged into my maverick displaying the 2 codes I pulled. As long as I have those pics the dealer can't screw me and say they didn't find a problem. Lol

I agree, I always fill my filter first if I can. Might not help but won’t hurt either.
Also if folks don’t know. You can also prime the system. Hold the brake down hard and throttle to the floor. Crank it with key. It will not fire and uses the starter to pump. Take a second but you will see the oil gage jump up. I do it after they sit for the winter. Or if it’s a cartridge filter.

Hello. I have a 2024 EB ford maverick. Today I performed my 2nd oil change on her. She has 1526 miles so far on her. Confirmed oil was full 5.5 qts. Prefilled oil filter. 20 ft torque oil drain plug. She sat dor about 30 minutes then I proceeded to go pick up my granddaughter from school. 7-8 minutes into the drive I pulled up to a stoplight and the truck started to hesitate and act like it was going to die. I thought I forgot to turn off the stop/go feature but I didn't. That's what it felt like. Light turned green and I drove into the first parking lot I could about 2-3 minutes after the issue happened. The check engine light came on too. I checked my ford pass app and it states my truck is fine no warnings or health issues. Has this happened to anyone else
Curious why your doing an oil change every 750 miles? Ford recommends an oil change every 5000 miles.

I did 2 oil changes quickly to get out the green oil and any particles that might be in the oil from the engine break in. From here on out I will do 4000 mile intervals.

That's what they use filters for. Waste of money. Look up the facts.
Helps me sleep better at night. It's only money. You can't take it with you when you die.....my choice.

I could be wrong but I think the green oil is a break in oil that's supposed to stay in the engine when it's new.

I don't think it's actual break in oil per say. I don't think any manufacturer uses real break in oil anymore. It's just weird shit ford like to do to be different I guess. I could be wrong though. Just my 2 cents. Anyway I left fords oil in for alittle over 800 miles of the recommended 1000 mile break in.
