Loss of power hybrid 24 xlt?

We have been loving our hybrid since the day we got it, Just this weekend I was driving it in electric mode on a 50mph side road when the gas pedal became unresponsive. No warning lights came on, I had the radio on, no loss of electric power there, dash appeared as it always had with electric mode. I had to pull over to the side of the road, switched it to park, shut it off 1 min or so then started back up and drove off like nothing happened. We had 7680 miles on it when that occurred. Any ideas as to what went wrong? Communication failure? We do not have ford pass, I'm not interested in that, but you would think there should be some warning light of some sort.

Had something similar happen to me just the other day on my '24 Lariat at 3500 miles. After I started and was pulling up my longer driveway at about the 50 foot point in electric mode everything just stopped. I had only been going about 7 MPH, no lights on dash or anything. Truck stopped and would not go when I pressed the gas. Did what you did and everything has been normal since. Not surprised after all I've heard, but don't know what to think or even if it would do any good to have it looked at. No problems in the nine months I've had it and no recalls done because I didn't want to screw up a good thing.
Edit: I also do not use Ford Pass and have never had it set up.

I have a 24 Lariat. 3 times since I took delivery, at 70mph dash would say electric driving but pushing gas pedal did nothing. Pulled over and turned off truck. Waited a couple of minutes and turned it back on. Third time it happened I drove it to the dealer. They couldn’t find any issue so the re-flashed the PCM and BCM. Crossing my fingers it doesn’t happen again.
