For very quick access in opening a safe, I prefer cypher locks (mechanical, so batteries are not required). I don't want to have to spin 3 or 4 rotating dials to open the safe. I have three (different brand) mechanical cypher lock safes, and the buttons are pretty solid, and have never had any failures.
- Has anyone seen such a safe?
- Both the Ford safes (center console, and read undersea) safes (and some 3rd party) have rotating dials to open the safe, and apparently no backup key to open the safe. I can't tell how (or if) a safe with just rotating dials could be opened if a dial failed, or the combination was forgotten/lost. Does anyone know if there is a backup method to gain access in case of trouble?
