I only just hit 600 miles and my first tank barely hit 20 mpg, but this was mostly back and forth to work -- one way which is mostly stop and go traffic. I also had given it some short moderate burst of acceleration which will definitely tank mileage on any turbocharged engine. Also of note, it had probably done an extensive amount of idling enroute to the dealership as the trip meter was only reading 3.5 mpg when I took delivery.
This past tank which has seen about 100 miles of mixed highway driving, including some hills and a short stint with in-town lower speeds w/ stops had me at just over 30 mpg. The rest of this tank, so far, has mostly been commuting and now has the trip meter reading about 25.5 mpg. I'd like to see it stay in this area, but don't expect that it will continually, and especially not during winter.
In my favor I don't often jackrabbit start anymore, and I let the vehicle more smoothly vs. dropping the hammer and spiking the boost. I guess I'm older and wiser now; but not always.
